After much deliberation and research, I finally ended up getting an inflatable. It’s just a lot less to deal with and not having to car top or truck top kayaks while towing a 12,000 pound trailer. I ended up going with the See Eagle Fasttrack Angler kayak it has a very good return policy of 180 days and a three-year warranty. This one is made for fishing, has a rigid floor so you can stand and puncture resistant sides it is made for landing fish with teeth and his spines and hooks. Has motor and seat options available.

It it also has 2 seats to go to a tandem configuration. Our thought is that once we get to a lake or river we can explore together and see where either of us wants to go back and either a photograph or fish and then it becomes a single seater so that we can take turns. Connie can use it to photograph I can use it to fiish. We tried it out before I threw out the box in a tandem configuration and single. The tandem configuration works for paddling but it’s pretty tight for Connie who has long legs. But it’s fine for a brief paddle. In the single configuration it’s very comfortable and I added a PVC foot rest that I have to fine-tune and I am working on a milk crate add on.
The kayak is pretty fast on bottles as well as my tarp and 120. But the hull slap is annoying, maybe when I put more weight in bow it it’ll be fine. I will add an anchor trolley to it and that’s about it. Maybe a depth finder for lakes next season, for now will test it out and see how it does.
