This is becoming something of a ritual for us... Ulysses and Fishhead slamming the fish on Fathers Day weekend. This year we decided to hit Biscayne Bay for all the legendary sport fish that inhabit this liquid wonderland. We came very close to scoring the Uber BBay Grand Slam. That is... Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit and the elusive Biscayne Bay Redfish all in one day. Ulysses is an angler and guide extraordinaire. He expertly guided us to very legitimate shots at all these species. Alas, all we boated were Bonefish and some tasty Snapper that we caught as an afterthought.
While catching four Bonefish in a single day would be the fulfillment of most anglers lifelong dream, I, I Fishhead, found it mildly satisfying.
We launched from Blackpoint and headed out to Sands cut to scope the flats and fish the day away. The passage was choked with partygoers and googans but we managed to avoid the hoopla and get down to business. Even though we did not get into the record books on this day we had a blast. I will now show you some pictures of the day.
